Award is to honor all horses owned by a PNER member with a minimum of 5000 AERC miles that are still competing in AERC 50+ mile rides within the PNER region. Award honors horses that continue mile after mile, consistently completing rides, because their lifetime efforts epitomize the true endurance horse. Awards will be given annually to all those who qualify. Must notify sponsor prior to December 1st if horse is qualified. (See membership directory for sponsor contact information.)
Veteran Horse

For the horse with outstanding performance in endurance over the years. To be considered, the horse must have a minimum of 2500 AERC career miles and have competed in long distance rides for 3 current consecutive years. Emphasis will be placed on high mileage and consistent performance on 75-100+ mile ride within the last 3 years. Rider/owner must be PNER member. Sponsor selects the recipient.

The PNER Ride Manager of the Year award is a way to recognize the current ride season’s best ride manager. Annual award presented in honor of Gene Peterson and Wayne Stobie, to any member of PNER who best exemplifies the characteristics shown by these people: unselfish, helpful, friendly, dedicated to the sport of endurance riding, and to PNER. Wayne and Gene were not riders. They came to the rides with their respective spouses but were always willing to help anyone who needed it. Send nominations to PNER President. Final decision to be made by the Executive Committee. Nomination must be received by December 1st.
AHA Region 4 High Point Distance

This award recognizes all pure bred and half Arabian horses registered with the Arabian Horse Association who complete over 200 miles in a season on rides within Region 4. Region 4 is all of Oregon and southern Idaho. You do not have to be a member of or live in Region 4 to nominate, but only rides in Region 4 count. The rider and owner (or lessee with a signed lease) must be a member of AHA and have a competition card. To nominate, a copy of your horse's registration and your competition card (and lease if being leased) -- digital copies and PayPal are fine -- and $10 for each horse entered must be to Carlene Benson before the first ride you would like counted. You receive one point for every mile and a bonus of 0.5 points for every mile in the regional championship. Everyone with 200 miles or more will receive a year-end achievement award, and the top-points horse will receive a High Point award.
